The Belvedere Inn is an exquisitely restored 1859 Italianate Mansion in the heart of Hannibal, Missouri - only four blocks from Hannibal's Historic Downtown. It is the only antebellum mansion in Northeast Missouri. The house has been home to some of Hannibal's most prominent and distinguished citizens over the years. Alfred Lamb - it's first owner - was a member of the House of Representatives and President of the Hannibal-St. Joseph Railroad which took the mail to St. Joe to link up with The Pony Express. Mark Twain played pool here in 1882 and the pool table is still in the same location.
The Belvedere Inn opened in April of 2015. We have four unique guest rooms - three of which are named after one of the founding owners of the house. The fourth room - The Belvedere Suite means "beautiful view," in Italian and is a two-story suite with wrap around windows on the top floor. It showcases a fabulous 360 degree view of Hannibal and the Mississippi River valley. All rooms have private bath rooms with two-person showers. Our Inn is overstuffed and comfy. While we have antiques, our furnishings are eclectic and designed to provide guests with a homey experience. Art work abounds.
We have a billiards room and parlor where guests are invited to play billiards, read, drink wine or simply chat. Our front porch is also a guest favorite. Many a summer or warm spring day you will see guests drinking coffee, tea or wine, waving to strangers, reading or - just napping. What a wonderful way to spend a day!

All our breakfasts are made from scratch - nothing is canned or from a box. We alternate sweet days with savory days so that guests experience a variety of taste treat sensations. We specialize in crust less quiches, homemade bread, a lovely baked pancake and freshly ground, strong coffee. Fruit and juice round out the menu alongside bacon or sausage and freshly baked sweets. We dine at a common table which seats 8-10. Morning conversations tend to go long at The Belvedere Inn. A 9am breakfast rarely ends before 10:30...strangers telling stories, sharing experiences, and laughing out loud contribute to feelings of familiarity so guests want to linger.
We are thrilled to have added Scoundrel's Inn to our offering. It is located next door to The Belvedere Inn - offering the same amenities and a ground floor suite of rooms.
We invite you to visit The Belvedere Inn. Come home to the Belvedere!

We dedicate this room to Henry!, a 36-year-old Black man who, in 1870, lived with Alfred Lamb, the owner of what is now The Belvedere Inn. While we do not know if Mr. Lamb owned Henry 1860, we can be certain that Henry was enslaved by someone then. Please see the front page of Belvedere Inn's web-site for more interesting history of this house.
